FIELD: ice-breaking jobs. SUBSTANCE: ice is broken near shore by making use of stressed- deformed state of ice cover arising over shore line 2 during high tide. First, hovercraft 3 is moved perpendicularly to edge at resonance speed and if shore is flat, ship runs on it and if shore is shelving, ship is turned or braked and then runs at resonance speed.
