FIELD: powder metallurgy; manufacture of aluminium nitride-based heat-conducting ceramics. SUBSTANCE: method consists in sintering aluminium nitride powder having form of microcrystals with needle particles obtained in mode of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis or mixture of aluminium nitride obtained by any known method with at least 5 mas.-% of aluminum nitride obtained in mode of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis and containing particles in form of monocrystal fibers at presence of no more than 6 mas.-% of yttrium oxide within a period of time of no more than 1 hour in nitrogen medium at pressure of no less than 0.12 Mpa followed by annealing sintered ceramics in the same gaseous medium at temperature not higher than 1800 C for at least 5 hours.
