FIELD: inorganic chemistry, more particularly preparation of lubricating and antifriction materials and cosmetic agents. SUBSTANCE: amorphous and/or crystalline boron is mixed with boron oxide. Amount of boron oxide is at least 30%. Up to 10% of oxalic acid, urea, graphite, ammonium fluoride and ammonium chloride are further added at ratio of 1:1. Mixture is placed into reactor, which is filled with nitrogen to pressure of 6-10 MPa. Mixture is initiated to burn. After cooling, desired product is extracted, treated with hot water, separated and dried. Yield of boron nitride is at least 97%. Specific surface of powder is at least 10 sq.m/g, and total content of impurities (nitrogen, free boron, boron oxide and oxygen) is not in excess of 1 %.
