FIELD: electronic communication, in particular, processing and generation of directories of messages aimed at multiple addressees. SUBSTANCE: method involves converting message, which is aimed at multiple addressees, into set of daughter messages for respective addressees with information field, which is identical for all daughter messages, and daughter message system field with identifier, which is specific for each addressee. Then, method involves generation of directory of source messages with at least two levels, so that record of first level corresponds to source message and contains following attributes: list of addresses for first to Nth addressees respectively, field which holds unique message identifier, field which holds state of source message. Each record of next level corresponds to daughter message and contains following attributes: address of i-th addressee, daughter message identifier for i-th addressee, and field, which holds status of daughter message for i-th addressee. When daughter messages are received by addressees, method involves generation of reception acknowledgement messages which are designed as state messages containing identifier of received daughter message and data about its current state. When sender receives state message, method involves search in directory of source messages using feature of daughter message identifier. When respective daughter message is found, data about current state of sent daughter message are read from received state message and are stored into state field of record of daughter message of respective level. EFFECT: increased efficiency of processing messages aimed at multiple addressees due to optimization of message structure in order to decrease losses of information to be transmitted and to simplify its processing. 6 cl, 4 dwg
