FIELD: concentration of minerals in mining industry and other industries. SUBSTANCE: method includes quasi-weighting of working volume of ferromagnetic fluid contained in separation chamber located in nonuniform magnetic field, supply of starting material, discharge of separation products accompanied by removal of ferromagnetic fluid from separation chamber and additional continuous delivery of ferromagnetic fluid in the course of separation for restoration of its volume. Used as working volume is maximum possible volume of ferromagnetic fluid which may be located in separation chamber in the course of separation process. For maintenance of maximum possible volume of ferromagnetic fluid, additional delivery of this fluid includes excess amount as compared with the amount carried away by separation products. Unused ferromagnetic fluid is removed from separation chamber. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy and efficiency of separation. 2 dwg
