FIELD: needle for hand working, preferably designed for weak-sighted people.

SUBSTANCE: hand-held sewing needle has rod provided with arc-shaped curved portion and having one end sharpened and other end provided with eyelet having mutually spring-biased side cheeks and cut terminating in wedge-shaped widened portion at needle end. Eyelet cut is positioned in plane of arc-shaped curved portion of rod. Curved portion of rod is characterized by following parameters: distance from chord to point of arc-shaped curved portion maximally remote from chord is 1-6 mm. Sewing needle of such design enables easy and successful execution of work connected with putting of thread into needle eyelet by weak-sighted people.

EFFECT: simplified construction and wider range of hand-held sewing needles.
