FIELD: shipbuilding; construction of ships and their holds used for carrying large-sized cargoes and blocks of ice. SUBSTANCE: ice carrier has three hulls; all hulls are equipped with power plants of respective power. Center hull is designed for carrying large-sized cargoes in hold having double heat-insulated walls. Side hulls are used for arrangement of power units, fuel, pumps and engines. Drive of winch and system of reduction gears are located on upper deck of center hull. Fore hold gate, bulkheads, wall of hold and elongated sides form loading compartment which consists of receiving and transit compartments. Loading compartment receives water and ice or another cargo located in water whose sizes and mass make it impossible to load them by standard methods. Transit compartment formed by bulkheads is used for receiving, positioning and transferring blocks of ice or cargo from receiving compartment to hold and isolation of hold from outside water during loading-unloading operations. EFFECT: extended range of overall dimensions of cargoes to sizes comparable with sizes of hold; best use of volume of hold; reduced transport expenses. 6 cl, 3 dwg
