FIELD: shipbuilding; barkon craft for loading/unloading jobs and transportation in ice carriers. SUBSTANCE: during transportation, barkon are secured in hold of ice carrier by freezing them up; to this end, sides and bottom of barkon have double walls between which pipe lines and heat conductors are laid which may be connected to shipboard refrigerating and thermal plants to speed up the freezing/unfreezing procedure; provision is also made for heat-insulating materials for protecting the cargoes carried in barkon against freezing. Deck of barkon is shiftable; fore and aft parts are coated with heat- insulating layer. EFFECT: increased productivity of cargo handling jobs; reduced transportation expenses. 4 dwg
