FIELD: water- development engineering, applicable at water- development works located in seismic regions. SUBSTANCE: device is made in the form of a curtain consisting of separate interconnected members and located on the side of the upstream face of the water-development works. The curtain members are made of porous material unsaturated with water, whose density is lower than the density of water, and containing air, whose volume makes up not less than half the total volume of curtain material. EFFECT: reduced hydrodynamic pressure on the works, and thus enhanced seismic stability of the latter, considerably simplified monitoring of the device condition and, as a result, minimized service expenditures. 2 dwg
