METHOD OF PREPARING PETROLEUM OILS WITH LOW POUR POINT AND PLANT FOR ITS EMBODIMENT Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: preparation of oil processing products; compositions of petroleum paraffin-base oils used as working fluids of pump-controlled hydraulic drives of construction, road-building, material handling and other land-based machines operating at subzero temperatures. SUBSTANCE: method consists in provision of oil flow in circulating circuit through vessel and supply of depressant into it. In so doing, depressant and oil are heated before mixing up to 120-150 C and 150-500 C, respectively. In this case, one part of oil flow is provided in the form of circular films and depressant, in the form of jets. Plant for the method embodiment has mixer-heater made in the form of shell-and-tube heat exchanger. Located inside and outside of heat exchanger tubes are small pipes with annular gaps. Upper ends of internal small pipes are connected with header supplying depressant, and their outlet ends have nozzles whose exit sections are located higher than outlet ends of outside tubes. The method ensures creation of protective film on surface of paraffin crystals preventing their sticking together and decreasing oil fluidity at subzero temperatures due to introduction of depressant molecules into intermolecular bonds of paraffin in oil.
