FIELD: ball cocks; reduction of forces on drive in shutting-off pipe lines. SUBSTANCE: ball cock has sectional body where ball-shaped shut-off member is fitted. Shut-off member has through holes on both sides which are concentric relative to axis of rotation. Bearing members adjoining the body are located on these bearing surfaces. Bearing members are made in form of rings provided with bearing surfaces on side directed to body. Bearing surfaces correspond to inner contour of parts of body. Bearing surface corresponding to inner contour of parts of body adjoins directly inner surface of body in transmitting the forces. EFFECT: increased bearing surfaces at very low-pressures exerted on supports which include considerable pressure differentials inside piping systems. 4 cl, 1 dwg
