FIELD: cleaning gases from solid and liquid particles by means of electric field of corona discharge; cleaning aerosols formed during welding jobs and other technological processes. SUBSTANCE: proposed electric filter includes the following chambers mounted in way of flow of gas: ionizing chamber made in form of several grounded parallel plates with extended corona- forming electrodes located between them at equal distance which posses high potential and settling chamber made in form of system of flat parallel electrodes located at equal distance and provided with different potentials. Both chambers may be mounted without or with clearance equal to 0.2 of distance between grounded plates of ionizing chamber for probable motion of chambers relative to each other in way perpendicular to flow of gas. Corona-forming electrodes are shifted inside ionizing chamber relative to end faces of grounded plates directed towards settling chamber by amount of L = (3/5±0,10)L0, where L0 is distance between grounded plates of ionizing chamber. Length of grounded plates of ionizer chamber in way of flow of gas is more than or is equal to L0. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and extended functional capabilities. 2 dwg
