FIELD: oil production industry. SUBSTANCE: this particularly relates to fastening of cable to pump-compressor pipe string. Wedge-type protector has body which accommodates wedge-type locks made of two clamps. Clamps are connected to each other by wedge and technological strip which is seated in guide slot of left-hand clamp. Bottom of guide slot in left-hand clamp is provided with protrusion. Value of clearance between protrusion and internal surface of clamp is less than thickness of technological strip. Strip is adapted for fixing due to deformation. Application of aforesaid embodiment of wedge-type protector affords higher reliability, convenience in operation together with lower damage during round-trip operations.
