SETUP FOR PRODUCING JUICE FROM SUGAR BEET Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: sugar production machinery and equipment. SUBSTANCE: setup has following units arranged according to flow of production process: stone catcher, tops catcher, beet washer, beet cutter, and device for extraction of juice. Juice extraction device is made up of press with heating of beet shavings. Installed before press is tunnel-type apparatus for freezing of beet shavings. Apparatus has zone for preliminary cooling of beet shavings by gaseous nitrogen, zone for freezing beet shavings by spraying with liquid nitrogen, and zone for levelling temperature through depth of shaving bed. Apparatus is provided with belt conveyor for transporting shavings through zones, also with fans and liquid nitrogen sprayer. Application of aforesaid embodiment of setup allows for producing maximal amount of juice from beet shavings with no use of water in juice production process. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 dwg
