FIELD: thermal engineering. SUBSTANCE: heat exchanger has staggered straight alternating tubes with cross fins having bent-up side edges and longitudinal fins or diaphragm-type fins; longitudinal-fin tubes have orifice plates, transfer labyrinth boxes with horizontal and vertical partitions bent throughout entire length or only on side of one of longitudinal edges meant to ensure desired direction of coolant flow over tubes; heat exchanger is built up of separate modules in the form of cells shaped as right-angled prism; each module has tube sheets and transfer labyrinth boxes; inlet and outlet headers in labyrinth boxes communicate through pipes with those of adjacent modules.
