FIELD: mechanical engineering; carburetor and diesel engines; liquid cooling systems. SUBSTANCE: proposed cylinder block liquid cooling jacket has sleeve, inlet and outlet branch pipes, upper and lower cooling belts with housing arranged on upper belt. This housing divides space into external and internal compartments. Housing is provided with slots arranged tangentially relative to inner surface of housing. Projections are found of external surface of upper belt cylinder sleeve. Inlet and outlet branch pipes are made in cylinder block jacket housing. Upper inlet branch pipe is connected through channel with external compartment of upper cooling space, and outlet branch pipe is connected through channel with lower cooling space. Novelty is that slots in housing of upper belt are made tangentially to inner surface of housing, and projections are arranged on external surface of upper belt cylinder sleeve. EFFECT: enhanced reliability and increased service life of engine owing to provision of optimum temperature condition of cylinder sleeve wall with engine operating under various loads. 2 dwg
