FIELD: hydrometallurgy. SUBSTANCE: platinoids are precipitated from high-activity nitrate solutions using formaldehydesulfoxylic acid sodium salt as precipitating agent in amounts corresponding following relationship: logN = 1.7 +0.8log[HNO3] where N is molar ratio of precipitating agent excess to platinoids and [HNO3] molarity of nitric acid. Optimum precipitation temperature lies within a range of 70 to 80 C. Method allows determining combination of physico-chemical conditions for selective recovery of platinoids from solutions containing more than one dozen of dissolved metals. EFFECT: enabled quantitative recovery (>99%), high selectivity and purification of platinoids (103 in average). 5 cl, 4 tbl, 3 ex
