FIELD: storage of liquid wastes containing strontium and cesium radionuclides in natural soil. SUBSTANCE: sets of industrial geochemical barriers are constructed to decontaminate water from radionuclides Strontium-90 and Cesium-137 in mellow soil wherein water is self-cleaned from radioactive isotopes. To this end, storage pond for industrial wastes contaminated with strontium and cesium isotopes is made in the form of pit with clay layers applied to its walls and bottom. Novelty is that clay used for the purpose is layer of montmorillonite clay carrying ash layer with limonite powder and layer of gypsum chippings with lime chippings; cooling pond has chara-shells, pond weed, and cat-tail. Proportion of double-component insulating layers is 1:1. EFFECT: simplified design and improved reliability of storage pond. 2 cl, 1 dwg
