FIELD: foundry, in particular, production of iron rolls. SUBSTANCE: method involves rotating casting mold about vertical axis; pouring metal at flow rate of 1.1-1.3 of volume of working layer; providing holding for allowing working layer to harden; pouring first portion of core metal at flow rate of 0.3-0.6 of volume of working layer; holding for allowing transition part to harden for 0.5-0.8 of total volume of liquid metal of transition part. Upon further pouring, liquid core metal is mixed with unhardened portion of transition part, in which the content of alloying component is lower than that of working layer. Such method allows roll core structure to be improved by presence of eutectical carbides only in allowed amounts. EFFECT: simplified method and improved quality of rolls. 1 ex
