FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: in agreement with method object is placed into holographic interferometer, hologram of object before deformation is recorded, object is deformed, interference picture is observed in real time and position of object is simultaneously changed till frequency and orientation of interference stripes are optimal for establishment of zone of plastic deformation and for determination of its sizes. Size of seat of deformation is found by region in which regularity of interference stripes is broken. EFFECT: increased accuracy of determination of boundaries of seat of deformation in objects reflecting diffusively.
