FIELD: railway transport; tank cars for transportation of dangerous cargoes. SUBSTANCE: tank car has barrel secured on frame, protective shields rigidly secured on frame opposite to barrel end plates with clearance between end plate and shield, running gear and hood for filler and drain fittings, two safety bows, each installed on top of barrel before hood at side of end plate at angle to barrel axis, height of bows exceeding height of hood. Each safety bow is provided with longitudinal, vertical and inclined braces, one end of each brace being rigidly secured on bow. End sections of each safety bow and longitudinal brace are hinge-connected with brackets 13 rigidly secured on reinforcement plates 14. Other ends of vertical and inclined braces are rigidly secured on reinforcement plates through locating rib 15. Height of each protective shield is made equal to 0.4-0.5 of diameter of barrel. Safety bows are secured on shell at angle of 89-79 degrees relative to barrel axis. EFFECT: prevention of damage of barrel in accidents. 2 cl, 4 dwg
