FIELD: railway rolling stock. SUBSTANCE: tank car is intended for transportation of dangerous loads and is provided with adequate protection of loads. Tank car has tank secured on frame. Tank is made up of shell and bottoms, running gear, and protection screens. Protection screens have vertical safety shields. Each shield is rigidly fastened to horizontal sheet opposite to tank bottom with clearance between them. Rigidly attached to vertical safety shields are central vertical ribs which are of variable cross-section. Fastened between vertical ribs are horizontal ribs. Vertical safety shield is provided with two side panels which in combination create protection screen. Angle of incline of protection screen with respect to horizontal sheet is within limits of 73-77 deg. Relation of width of side panel base to width of its upper part is equal to 1.2-1.3. Application of aforesaid embodiment of railway tank car allows for enhancing operational reliability of tank cars in transportation of dangerous loads together with ensuring ecological safety to environmental medium.
