FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, particularly, production of heat-hardenable reinforcing rod steel in light sections with utilization of heat of rolling heating. SUBSTANCE: method is used in heat hardening of rolled products in process flow of small-section mills. Blanks are heated up to 1200 C, rolled and recrystallized by utilization of heat of rolling heating for 0.1-7-0.19 s at temperature of 1020 ± 30 C and cyclic of surface for 0.85-0.95 s with number of cycles amounting to two, with intermediate and final heating of surface to temperatures below point Ac1 and final cooling. EFFECT: preparation of high-strength and ductility characteristics of steels containing no expensive and difficult-to-get alloying elements; possible production of high-strength heat-hardenable reinforcing steel in light sections. 1 tbl
