SHUT-OFF COCK WITH CERAMIC WASHERS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture of fittings, viz. shut-off and adjusting pipe line fittings. SUBSTANCE: shut-off cock has body with gate in form of engageable three ceramic disks, cover screwed in body and compressed by ceramic disks and sealing gaskets. Two extreme disks are fixed and are provided with position retainers. Center disk is mounted rotatably and is connected with operating handle which extends outside through slot. Sealing gaskets are laid between extreme disks, body and cover. Disks have central holes for receiving the axle and straightway ports for passage of medium which are made in form of sectors. Movable disk is provided with radial tail-piece. Outer cylindrical surface of body is provided with circular bore. Plastic handle is provided with two flexible tabs and is fitted on tail-piece. Tabs are received by circular bore embracing part of body; they are fastened to body by dovetail lock whose members are located on ends of tabs. EFFECT: facilitated manufacture of cock; facilitated mounting; reduced losses in pressure when medium flows through it at fully open working ports. 5 cl, 4 dwg
