PROCEDURE DETERMINING CONTENT OF SCATTERED MINERALS OR COMPONENTS IN ROCKS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: geophysical methods of search and prospecting for mineral resources. SUBSTANCE: samples of core are taken from limited number of reference boreholes in examined object. Content of scattered minerals or components and concentration of natural radioactive elements are found in each sample. Obtained data are used then to compute values of concentration of natural radioactive elements in each mineral or component. Concentration of natural radioactive elements measured in borehole are converted on basis of computed values into content of individual minerals or components in rocks.
