FIELD: automotive industry; seat belts; gas-dynamic-action devices. SUBSTANCE: proposed device has housing with bottom and cover accommodating movable rod passing through cover with adequate sealing, one end of rod being connected to safety belt and the other, connected with piston dividing housing into adequately sealed behind-the-piston and before-the piston spaces. Pyrotechnic charge with percussion primer is installed in combustion chamber arranged coaxially in piston space and connected with behind- the-piston space. Striker is installed for engagement with percussion primer through inertial sensor unit at overload exceeding preset level. Piston travel limiter is made in form of ring cylindrical-and-conical grooves arranged on inner side surface of housing for locking piston in initial and final positions by lobes of collet fitted on piston end face at rod side. Side surface of housing has at least one through hole providing discharge of excess pressure from behind-the-piston space. Sensitivity axis of sensor coincides with longitudinal axis of movable rod.
