FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device is used for coupling of rotating shafts. Device has intermediate shaft with couplings at its ends. At least one of them is double membrane coupling. Device also includes protective device made in the form of coaxial pairs of rods positioned on surfaces of bosses of double membrane coupling facing each other. One of rods in each pair of coaxial rods has internal cylindrical coaxial surface at its end embracing with clearance circular projection at end of opposite rod. In this case, circular projections in all pairs of coaxial rods are positioned in plane of symmetry of flexible membranes which passes between them. Flexible membranes of device are secured to bosses by means of protective rods. EFFECT: simplified construction. 2 dwg
