RIVETING APPARATUS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: assembling and riveting operations. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes housing supporting upper and lower power heads and control system. Upper power head has body with upper clamping member. In head body are arranged: mechanism for drilling and countersinking opening, mechanism for placing rivet in opening and spindle for trimming portion of countersunk closing head extending over surface of pack. Lower power head has body with clamping member and with power cylinder. The last has riveting punch. Power cylinders of both power heads are connected with control system. Apparatus also includes force metering device in the form of pickup and electrically connected with it: unit for controlling riveting effort and unit for continuously monitoring mode of riveting effort change and for registering its final actual value. Unit for controlling riveting effort is connected with control system. Pickup contacting with riveting punch may be in the form of strain gage with elastic members. Such pickup contacts with end of riveting punch turned to power cylinder of lower power head. EFFECT: improved design of apparatus providing uniform tightness along the whole thickness of riveted pack. 2 cl, 2 dwg
