FIELD: abrasive industry. SUBSTANCE: chamber mandrel, upper and lower molding plates and cover are mounted on base. Inserts are positioned on molding plates for formation of cutting projections and radial grooves on grinding wheel. Length l of inserts is determined from expression: l = (Dn-Dw)/2, where Dn is new wheel diameter; Dw is diameter of wheel worn out to the utmost. Inserts are shaped as equilateral trapezoid in longitudinal and lateral cross sections. Upper plate inserts are shifted relative to lower plate inserts through angle α = π/m, where m is number of inserts on one plate, m = 1/(ntx), where n is number of grinding wheel revolutions per one second, t is time of maximum permissible contact of wheel cutting projection with blank surface being worked. EFFECT: enhanced durability of wheel. 3 dwg
