FIELD: water treatment. SUBSTANCE: process, consisting in chemically treating water used in mixture with treated steam condensate in enterprises wherein production and/or processing of hydrocarbon-containing stock is conducted, includes intake of fresh water from water pool or another source and successive treatment thereof with at least one once-occurring change temperature state of water before beginning of or in the course of its treatment by heat exchange with return steam condensate resulting from process cooling of steam. Novelty consists in that heating steam is at least partly produced by burning associated gas and/or process gas released during heat treatment and/or in thermal-destruction processes accompanying processing of oil raw material or intermediate products, this combustible process gas being fed into fuel system at temperature chiefly 50-70 C and pressure chiefly 3.0-5.0 kg/sq.cm. Prior to be burned, gas is preheated to at least 100 C. 15 to 40% of gas is burned in steam generator and 60-85% in process installations of enterprise. To heat chemically purified water, residual heat of spent steam from enterprise processes is used. Invention increases efficiency of production owing to reduced consumption of chemically purified water for feeding production equipment. Invention also improves environmental condition thanks to excluded necessity of adjusting quality of purified water and condensate with regard to silicon level, which enables 100% return of condensate to steam generator and replacing desalting installation with hydrogen-cationite and anionite filters by installation with sodium-cationite filters thereby replacing corrosive reagents (sulfuric acid and alkali) by sodium chloride.
