FIELD: petrochemical processes. SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in processing of crude oils with different levels of sulfur. Process consists in recovering sulfur from crude oil and/or treating, and/or processing and purifying hydrocarbon stock to release hydrocarbon gases and hydrogen sulfide using heat processes with, as heat carrier, water steam produced in steam generators wherein water is heated by burning therein at least gas and/or liquid fuel. Steam condensate formed in this process is at least partly recycled, and hydrogen sulfide is burned down in oxygen to form sulfur and extra heat. Hydrogen sulfide and hydrocarbons at least partially freed from hydrogen sulfide are burned separately and at least 60% of extra heat released from combustion of hydrogen sulfide and at least 10% of extra heat released from combustion of hydrocarbon gases is used for process, factory, and public needs by way of producing steam and reusing heat of steam condensate to preheat hydrocarbon stock, products of processing thereof, and crude water to be chemically purified. 90% of extra heat released from combustion of hydrocarbon gases is used directly in hydrocarbon stock processing. Gases to be burned are supplied at temperature at least 50 C and pressure at least 0.1 kg/sq.cm and, immediately before combustion, they are additionally heated to temperature at least 80 C. Water for production of steam is return condensate to which chemically treated water is added in amounts at least sufficient to replenish lost condensate. EFFECT: improved quality of petroleum products due to by 95% reduced level of sulfur and reduced consumption of chemically treated waste water leading to improved environmental condition. 14 cl, 1 tbl
