FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: hardened dross ingot, for instance obtained from waste formed in the process of dip galvanizing of steel sheets, is placed into special crucible, which is then placed into melting furnace, whereupon boron-containing minerals are laid on top and powdered aluminum is then added. The total is kept for 2 to 8 h at temperature constituting 1.2-1.8 melting point of zinc. EFFECT: simplified process, increased content of chief metal, reduced power consumption, and excluded harmful emissions.
