FIELD: agriculture, in particular, protection of farm crops from pests, diseases and weeds. SUBSTANCE: method involves advancing sprayer with all or major part of perimeter of circle, described with its streams delivered by discharge nozzles, beyond outer boundary line of liquid flow section in random direction transverse to flow, when low-molecular liquid is to be changed with composition containing fiber-forming polymer; positioning sprayer next to flow boundary line so that its axis is oriented at an angle of 0-45 deg to flow. Sprayer may be moved forward in the direction of advancement of spraying unit at distance from flow boundary line equal to Sm = A x V x H, where V m/s is spraying unit speed; Hm is height at which sprayer is positioned above plants; A s/m is coefficient within the range of 0.2-1.6. Axis of sprayer may be inclined at an angle of 45 deg below its rear end. Method allows farm crops to be treated by spraying, as well as by applying pesticide-polymeric fibers. EFFECT: wider operational capabilities, reduced consumption of chemicals and enhanced reliability in operation. 3 cl, 13 dwg, 1 tbl
