FIELD: machine engineering, namely finish grinding of blanks. SUBSTANCE: elastic grinding wheel is in the form of elastic chamber filled with ethylene glycol. Abrasive carrying layer is arranged on periphery of chamber, electric heating member is placed inside chamber. Direct current motor is mounted on boss of wheel; terminals of motor are connected with heating member. Mechanism for braking rotor of electric motor is mounted on protective casing of wheel. At arresting rotor of electric motor electric current is generated for heating ethylene glycol. Pressure inside chamber provides rigidity of wheel necessary for preliminary working. When rotor is released elasticity of wheel increases according to cooling of ethylene glycol. It allows to realize finish grinding. EFFECT: high reliability and operational safety of wheel due to enhanced arrangement of its members and good sealing of current conductive portions. 2 dwg
