FIELD: lining of various metallurgical units. SUBSTANCE: carbon- containing refractory material is prepared from one or more oxide components selected from group consisting of periclase calcined colomite. Spinel, corundum, zirconium oxide, 50-91; carbon-containing component, 5-30; antioxidizing additive comprising one or more components selected from group consisting of metallic aluminium, crystalline silicon, aluminium-silicon and aluminium- magnesium alloys, boron carbide and zirconium disbarred, 1-10; organic binder 3-10 and less than 63 mcm fraction modifying additive comprising aluminium oxide and zirconium oxide separately or in combination, 0.3-5; one or more carbon-containing aluminium and zirconium compounds and also one or more metals selected from group consisting of aluminium, silicon, and zirconium. Composition makes it possible to increase resistance of refractory material to oxidation and strengthen ceramic bond formed as carbonic skeleton burns out.
