FIELD: chemical technology, polymers. SUBSTANCE: invention describes method of producing styrene polymer frothed particles with improved indices. Method involves: 1) preparing frothed particles of styrene polymers containing 2-20 weight % of incorporated frothing agent as measured for polymer weight by polymerization of styrene monomer only or in mixture with one or more ethylene-unsaturated monomers in aqueous suspension. The latter monomers can polymerize with styrene monomer and process is carried out in the presence of frothing agent taken among aliphatic hydrocarbons containing 1-3 carbon atoms and carbon dioxide; 2) coating these particles with antistatic agent taken in the amount less 1% by weight as measured for polymer; 3) intense friction of particles in mixer for their surface heating for short time by simple mechanical friction when particle mass can be heated to temperature in the range 20-55 C; 4) loading out obtained particles from mixer.
