FIELD: medicine, pharmacology, veterinary science, biology. SUBSTANCE: proteoglycan is prepared by disintegration of mitotic plant cells, for example, Solanum tuberosum seedlings (Solanaceae family). Proteoglycan is extracted from aqueous solution, fractionated according with its molecular mass and concentrated to obtain dried matter. The latter has molecular mass (8.0 x 105)-(2.5 x 106) Da and the following elemental composition, wt.-%: nitrogen, 1.12-2.48; hydrogen, 5.15-7.21; carbon, 39.93-44.42 and ash component containing polysaccharide chain, the balance. The latter consists of the following components, wt. -%: neutral sugar residues, 34.0-85.3; glucose, 26.4-33.1; galacturonic acid, 19.0-25.1; arabinose, 1.7-4.4; uronic acids, 12.0-18.0; rhamnose, 1.2-10.0; xylose, 0.1-3.0; mannose, 0.1-5.0; galactose, 2.5-27.0; and protein is up to 15%. Protein consists of amino acid residues in the following amount, ng/0.1 mg of proteo- -glycan: asparagine, 126.0-146.0; serine, 139.0-159.0; glutamine, 263,0-283.0; glycine, 117.0-131.0; alanine, 80.0-100.0; valine, 76.0-96.0; leucine, 85.0-105.0; lysine, 65.0-85.0; arginine, 42.0-62.0; and trace amount of cysteine, isoleucine, histidine, phenylalanine, tyrosine and threonine. Proteoglycan exhibits the following maximal peaks of IR- -spectrum (KBr tablet): 3350, 2920, 1720, 1655, 1620, 1610, 1560, 1510, 1405, 1378, 1296, 1145, 1080, 1040, 920, 842 and 763 cm-1. Proteoglycan is prepared by milling the raw up to paste-like state, extracted with boiling water at the ratio water : material = (1:1)-(1: 2) and kept at 20 C for 23-25 h. Liquid phase is separated by filtration and subjected for fractionation by gel-chromatography or gel-filtration to remove fractions of molecular mass less than 8.0 x 105 Da. Obtained extract is concentrated until dry. EFFECT: broad spectrum of anti-infectious activity of product, absence of adverse effects. 3 cl, 3 tbl, 5 ex
