FIELD: gas treatment materials. SUBSTANCE: photocatalytic element for removing organic impurities from air and other gases contains porous carrier consisting of at least five sintered glass beads at least 0.1 mm in diameter and, coating surface of carrier, powdered anatase modification of titanium dioxide with specific surface 100-150 sq.m/g and mesopore size from 5 to 15 nm. Original glass beads 0.1 to 1.5 mm in diameter in amounts sufficient to obtain at least five carrier layers are sintered at temperature below glass softening temperature within specified envelop, shape the carrier to be obtained, made from metal, graphite, or from an easily degradable or easily soluble in water material. Thereafter, enveloped sintered carrier is cooled, taken out of its envelop, coated with above-said titanium dioxide powder, and dried in air until moisture is fully removed. EFFECT: enhanced gas treatment efficiency and reduced process cost due to utilization of inexpensive material. 20 cl, 2 dwg
