METHOD OF SEMIDRY MOLDING OF AIR-DRIED BRICK ON PRESS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: building material production. SUBSTANCE: method is used for molding of fire, lime-and-sand, ceramic and other types of brick, mainly, on toggle-lever press. Method includes additional mixing of molding mixture on way from reservoir to stationary mold and forming of molding mixture in several steps along travel of toggle-lever press including action on molding mixture by upper tool from top to bottom and introduction of upper tool into mold to depth of 20-25 mm at low force and stopping. Molding mixture is also formed by step of action on it by lower tool from bottom to top and step of action on molding mixture by both upper and lower tools, with upper-tool speed exceeding lower-tool speed and both tools moving upwards. Method also includes step of the first relaxation of force action on molding mixture, step of application of two-sided maximum force to molding mixture with counter movement of upper and lower tools, step of secondary relaxation of forming force on molding mixture with diverging movement of tools, step of repeated two-sided application of maximum force of toggle-lever press to molding mixture and calibration of brick sizes. Method makes it possible to give air-dried brick uniform high density by volume, to enhance its strength and to give air-dried brick properties which enable using of new tendencies of air-dried brick application in metallurgy without burning.
