FIELD: controlled fusion reactors. SUBSTANCE: method involves confining plasma by keeping charged particles whose trajectories are greater that deviations from magnetic surfaces away from trap. To this end, configuration of magnetic field built up by closing sections connecting enclosed magnetic trap with axisymmetric magnetic field is chosen proceeding from requirement for internal shorting-out of secondary plasma currents; in addition, it is required that all lines of magnetic module level on magnetic surfaces covered magnetic axis both on sections with axisymmetric magnetic field and on closing sections.
