SUBSTANCE: reactor longitudinal spiral-shaped winding whose turns are placed on chamber surface in tangential manner over entire length is connected to output terminals of secondary coil of DC-to- constant-ripple-current induction converter. Leads of converter primary coil whose turn number is smaller than that of secondary coil are connected to DC generator; inserted between opposing ends of cores projecting from coils are variable-permeance rotors assembled of transformer iron strips and mounted on common shaft which is rotating in bearings and kinematically coupled, for example, with electromechanical drive for varying its speed; ends of coil cores and shaft bearings are secured in converter stator. New shape of winding makes it possible to organize space-saving toroidal vacuum chamber without through central bore. EFFECT: provision for holding plasma by magnetic field in heat insulation. 2 cl, 8 dwg
