FIELD: continuous casting of alloys of non-ferrous metals, casting of alloys with wide temperature crystallization range and susceptible to hot-shortness. SUBSTANCE: zone of first cooling includes upper and lower chambers. Horizontal ring partition separates lower chamber from upper one and distribution chamber. Sleeve of mould in mounted in case with the aid of elastic seals for free axial and diametrical thermal expansion. Height of upper chamber amounts to 0.7-0.9 height of sleeve. Lower flange of sleeve has holes made at different angles to vertical axis of mould. EFFECT: increased operational reliability of mould, simplified cooling of it, enhanced rate of casting, facilitated assembly and maintenance of mould. 2 cl, 1 dwg
