FIELD: purification of sewage, more particularly recovery of arsenic from aqueous solutions. SUBSTANCE: method comprises using sulfoxide cationite for sorption of arsenic from aqueous solutions and addition of iron (III) nitrate to arsenic-containing solution in amount of 0.15- 0.4 g of (Fe3+ per 1 and also nitric acid to pH of 1.3-1.5. EFFECT: method makes it possible to reduce arsenic concentration in solutions being purified to permissible concentration, that is, to increase effectiveness of purification as compared with the prior art method.
