FIELD: acoustic control. SUBSTANCE: meter is used for measuring of sonic speed in liquid media. Meter has duration discriminator, switch, integrator, controlled generator, counter-type frequency divider, pulse distributor, exciting pulse generator, pulse clipper, electroacoustic transducer with reflector, comparator, peak detector, two RS-triggers, AND and OR logic elements, delay lines and recorder. Measurement accuracy of meter is enhanced due to automatic correction of recording level of reception signal by comparator with part of amplitude value of preceding reception signal. High frequency of monitoring pulses varying from 8750 to 10,000 Hz, with sonic speed in medium changing from 1400.00 tp 1600.00 m/s makes it possible to eliminate effect of amplitude variations of reception signals caused by partial disturbances of medium acoustic transparence on meter operation.
