FIELD: thermal softening of water for heating systems. SUBSTANCE: plant has thermal softener with reaction and settling regions, deaerator whose effective volume makes up 1.5-3.5 of that of thermal softener, pipeline feeding source coolant water, pipelines conveying softened water from settling region and delivering mud slurry to reaction region both communicating with deaerator, and pipeline for evacuating flash steam from thermal softener and deaerator. EFFECT: reduced space requirement, improved capacity and degree of water softening. 5 cl, 2 dwg
