FIELD: production of molded materials. SUBSTANCE: molded compounds are produced from particles of vegetable origin (crushed wood, chaff of flax, hemp, guazoy, subflower husk, cereal straw). The invention may be used in manufacture of articles of structural and finishing purposes without use of synthetic binding substances in furniture and construction industries. In order to produce nontoxic composite materials, molded material is made from wood particles containing at least 5% of free sugars, hydrolyzing agent without additional introduction of binding substances in production of composite materials. Method involves application of solution of hydrolyzing agent in the form of hydrogen peroxide in amount of 0.1-15.0 wt.pts to wooden wastes, and treatment with superheated steam at temperature of 170-180 C. Steam-cured wood wastes in decompression are transformed into defibrated wood pulp which is dried to moisture content of no less 5% for subsequent processing. Wood-fiber pulp is molded without addition of binding substances and subjected to cold pressing. Hot pressing is carried out at temperature of 120-160 C.
