FIELD: liquid fuel production. SUBSTANCE: additive for fuels used in internal combustion engines contains from 10 to 90% of salt of formula (CH3)(C4H9)(CaH2a+1)C-COOM wherein a=1-6; or formula CbH2b+1-COOM wherein b= 3-17; or formula (R)Ar(X)-COOM, in which Ar is benzene nucleus, R is hydrogen, C3-C12-alkoxy radical attached to benzene nucleus in p-position to carboxyl group, or C15-C25-alkyl attached to benzene nucleus in o-position to carboxyl group, X is hydrogen or hydroxyl attached to benzene nucleus in o-position to carboxyl group; or formula (R')Ar'(X)-OM, in which Ar' is benzene nucleus, R' is hydrogen, methyl, isononyl, or tert-butyl attached to benzene nucleus in p-position to oxygen atom, and M is lithium, sodium, or potassium; and additionally 10-90% of polyethylene glycol ether of formula R″-(OCH2CH2)nOH, in which R" is isononylphenyl or C12-C14-alkyl and n=4-12; or cyclic polyether of formula or formulas and (OAr″OCH2CH2OCH2CH2)2, in which Ar" is benzene nucleus in which oxygen atoms are in o-position to each other. Additive is superior to its prototype regarding antiknock activity by up to 3.89 times. EFFECT: increased antiknock activity. 1 tbl
