FIELD: purification of solutions. SUBSTANCE: method of purification of solutions containing metals includes neutralization of solution, reduction of contained trivalent iron and removal of contained dissolved zinc. Solution containing metals is neutralized with use of magnetite and/or metallic iron. Contained trivalent iron is reduced to bivalent iron by addition of metallic iron. Contained heavy metals are precipitated by adding of sulfide in amount enough for their precipitation. Precipitated sulfides are regenerated by filtration. Solution is optionally subjected to ion exchange to transfer contained zinc in the form unbound into complex, and zinc is separated in the form of zinc carbonate. Bivalent iron in remaining solution is oxidized to trivalent iron and solution is used or subjected to further treatment to increase metal content in order to use it, if required. Method allows more economical and simple reduction of metals present in pickling solutions. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 7 cl, 2 ex
