FIELD: nuclear power engineering; emergency shutdown of reactor core. SUBSTANCE: nuclear reactor has vessel 11 provided with coolant admission holes 28,30 communicating with reactor normal cooling circuit as well as core shell 26 inside vessel 11. Reactor also has cylinder 34 installed inside its vessel 11 around shell 26 and meant for shaping annular channel between core shell and mentioned cylinder as well as cooler incorporating at least one coolant delivery pipe communicating with annular channel 38 and at least two facilities 12, 14, 16, 18 for feeding additional coolant to delivery pipe at different feeding pressures. EFFECT: provision for minimizing or eliminating inadmissible temperature rise in reactor core. 9 cl, 5 dwg
