FIELD: biologically-active compounds. SUBSTANCE: plant genus Serratula is reduced into fragments and extracted with water at temperature not superior to 100 C. Extract is evaporated and associated substances are separated from desired product with ethylacetate/methanol mixture (4:1) or chloroform/methanol mixture (6: 1). Ecdysteroids are then purified chromatographically on alumina column in chloroform/methanol system with ascending polarity. Product is recrystallized in 9:1 ethylacetate/methanol mixture.
